New Zealand and Africa business ties

New Zealand's trade with countries across Africa has been growing in recent years, buoyed by a stronger New Zealand presence across the continent and the steady economic transformation taking place in many African countries.

NZTE’s Africa team, led by Trade Commissioner Haylon Smith, works across the continent supporting New Zealand businesses and the development of commercial partnerships in key African markets. The team is supported by a growing network of private-sector advisors, consultants, and industry contacts, and by New Zealand diplomatic presences in South Africa, Ethiopia and Egypt.
